You Know You Are A History Geek When. . . .

When after a week in London, you notice that the Tube stop for Blackfriars is closed, and you immediately assume that Henry VIII has closed the monastery.

(Because Blackfriars Bridge--where the Tube stop is--refers to the location of a Dominican monastery at the site--the monks wore black robes and were known as the "Black Friars." Then you have to know that Henry VIII started dissolving monasteries around 1538, taking the treasures and land for himself and destroying the buildings.)
